Blender Add-On: Invoke Layout Popup

Description:
Invoke Layout Popup is a productivity add-on for Blender that allows you to quickly open any editor (like Shader Editor, UV Editor, Graph Editor, etc.) in a floating window, directly from the Object Mode right-click context menu.

It’s designed for users working with multi-monitor setups, modular workflows, or anyone who needs rapid, on-demand access to specific editors without modifying their current workspace layout.

Button Placement:

  • Added to the Object Context Menu (right-click in 3D Viewport) as “Add Principled Material”.

  • A separator visually isolates it for quick access.

Working Principle:

  • When in Object Mode, right-click in the 3D Viewport.

  • You’ll see a new context menu item: “Invoke Layout”.

  • Hover or click this menu to reveal a categorized list of common Blender editors.

  • Selecting an item will:

    1. Create a floating duplicate window (just like Window > New Window + editor duplication).

    2. Automatically set the editor type of that new window to match your selection.

All of this happens in real-time without altering your current workspace or layout.
